Help and support
Vera is a free app for financial education and planning: ask anything about your money and see the math with your own numbers. For questions, problems, or feedback, email mukherjee.arn@northeastern.edu.
Is Vera financial advice?
No. Vera explains the math, your options, and the tradeoffs so you can decide. It never tells you to buy or sell a security.
Why do I need to sign in?
Signing in saves your numbers and plans to your account, encrypted, so you don't lose them when you switch phones. Vera uses Sign in with Apple and doesn't ask for your name or email.
Where are my numbers stored?
On your phone and, encrypted, in your Vera account. When you ask a question, they're also sent to Vera's server and to Anthropic's Claude to write the answer, and that request isn't kept.
Does Vera keep my questions?
If "Help improve Vera" is on, Vera keeps your question and its answer for 90 days to learn what people ask, without your numbers, your name, your account, or anything that identifies your phone. You can turn it off in the Privacy tab.
How do I delete my account?
Open the Privacy tab and tap "Delete my account." That deletes your account, saved numbers and plans, and any connected accounts from Vera's servers, erases them from your phone, and ends Sign in with Apple for Vera. Copies in encrypted backups are gone within 35 days.
Why can't Vera answer right now?
To stay free, Vera has a daily question limit for each phone and a daily limit overall. If you see a limit message, try again tomorrow. Answers can take up to a minute while Vera runs its calculators.
Does Vera work outside the U.S.?
Yes. Vera's calculators and tax guidance follow U.S. rules. In other countries, including India, Vera answers in your currency and explains local options in general terms, without U.S. tax math. Connecting accounts is U.S.-only.
Does Vera connect to my bank?
Only if you choose to, in the U.S., where the feature is available to you. Connections go through Plaid, so Vera never sees your bank login. Vera can read balances, holdings, and transactions, but it can't move money, and you can disconnect at any time.
